RV Parks and Campgrounds

Nestled in the gorgeous Cascade Mountains of Washington State, Leavenworth WA has a whole bunch of great camping grounds and RV parks. Everything from rustic tent camping sites in a state park and the nearby national forest to membership campgrounds all within easy driving distance from downtown Leavenworth.

Want to enjoy the great outdoors while you visit your favorite Bavarian village? Within walking distance of the Front Street shopping district, Alpine View RV Park and Campground has full hook-up pull-through sites and tent sites. It’s pet friendly, open year-round and only a quarter of a mile from downtown.

Pine Village KOA is right on the Wenatchee River with 770 feet of sandy beach. For some families, the KOA might be within walking distance and is surely within biking range, though they also offer a free shuttle to downtown. It also features a Kamp K9 for your pets. No RV? Pine Village KOA has Kamping Kabins, Kottages and Lodges. Leavenworth/Pine Village KOA has been in business for more than 30 years. It has a great family activities, a barbeque pavilion and free wi-fi.

Icicle River RV Resort (est. 1949) has 50 acres of fabulous natural surroundings. The Icicle River runs right though the park. When you’re enjoying a lovely campfire on a cool mountain evening it’s hard to believe that you’re only 3 miles from Leavenworth. After a blissful night sleep in the pure mountain air, indulge in 18 holes of golf on Leavenworth’s beautiful regulation public course, only 2 miles down the road. Watch for deer, mountain goats and black bear nearby. Their season lasts from April through the third week of October.

Located 17 miles from Leavenworth, Thousand Trails-Leavenworth is a year-round membership campground, on 300 acres of beautiful alpine forests and meadows. It’s got lots of fun activities like horseshoe pits, a swimming pool, tennis courts and available Wi-fi. It’s at an elevation of 2051 ft. in the Cascades so wildlife abounds (including the occasional black bear!) Canoeing and kayaking can be done on the pond and lake. Enjoy 7 miles of hiking/walking trails. In the winter months ride your snowmobiles across the road to more than 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails. While Thousand Trails-Leavenworth is a member campground, non-members can reserve a camping/RV site depending upon availability.

Nestled in the heart of the Cascade Mountain range, on the site of the original Blewett Pass Stage Depot, Blu-Shastin RV Resort is a great base from which to take scenic drives or tour nearby vineyards and orchards. The resort has 86 RV sites and offers tent-camping. It’s located along the pristine Peshastin Creek.

The village of Leavenworth is the headquarters for the Wenatchee River Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. It includes the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area, Tumwater and Icicle Creek Canyons and Colchuck Lake. For information about backcountry hiking and overnight camping in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest visit the Ranger Station in Leavenworth or check out the website.

The Enchantments Wilderness area is beautiful but rugged wilderness area within the Alpine Lakes region of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. This unique area is very popular among day-hikers and backpackers. Because of its popularity the permits to use this area for both day and overnight use are awarded via a lottery system.

The Wenatchee River Ranger District includes three horse camping sites, many RV and tent camping campgrounds and lots of day-use picnic and recreation areas, as well as hiking and riding trails. Because many of the campgrounds and trails are subject to seasonal closures, we recommend that you contact the Ranger Station in Leavenworth before you make firm plans. Even as late as mid-June some trails and camping areas can be closed. And because the wilderness areas are prime bird nesting habitat, there can be restrictions on those areas during breeding and nesting periods.

Take your family camping adventure to a new level by letting Icicle Outfitters design a family camping trip you’ll never forget. Icicle Outfitters offers trail rides, guided hiking and hunting trips, high lake fishing adventures, drop camps and full service deluxe camps. In the winter months they have sleigh-ride tours and packages.

Looking for a place where your group can have a campout or family camp? Ingalls Creek Enrichment Center is a privately owned Christian campground that provides facilities for groups ranging in size from 12 to over 100. They have more than 35 campsites, though no hook-ups yet, an amphitheater that seats up to 120, a picnic gazebo and flush toilets and hot water showers. Visit their website and contact them for more information.

Lake Wenatchee State Park is a camping park just 18 miles northwest of Leavenworth WA. It consists of two campgrounds with 155 tent sites, 42 sites with water and electric, and it has two ADA sites. There is also a group tent camping site that accommodates 20-80 people. The park has a lot of recreational activities available including swimming, hiking and horseback riding. There are day-use areas within the park, but day-use would require a Washington State Discover Pass.
