Pubs and Pizzas
LLast time we were in Leavenworth we stopped at a place we’d never been before. Rudloof’s Pizza was a really pleasant surprise. It was a nice little pizza place with friendly staff and a varied menu. Although we were in a pizza place, we saw that they had a sausage sampler and decided to try it. It was a great sampler with some really nice sauerkraut. They had a variety of mustards and dipping sauces from one of the local gourmet food stores. All in all, a very nice lunch.
It’s been awhile since we’ve been into the Leavenworth Pizza Company. When we were last in there though we had the best pizza ever. I have never had mozzarella that was chewier. It was great! And one of the ingredients they had on the menu was fresh garlic. At the time I had never seen that as a pizza ingredient. After that I became a big fan. Now, whenever we make pizza at home, I put on fresh garlic.
We also like going to the Baren Haus. Built in a brick warehouse, they have left the brick walls and beams open for a nice friendly atmosphere. Just about anyone can find something to eat there. They have pizza, pasta, salads, soup, German food, burgers, sandwiches, chicken, steaks, pork, and a children’s menu. And a full breakfast menu as well. You can always find something to eat at Baren Haus.
Several months ago we visited Uncle Uli’s Pub and talked to the owner. It seems like a very friendly place with an underground pub feel to it.
If you are looking for a sports bar, look no further than the P.O. Saloon. (It’s named that because it’s in the old Post Office.) Pull tabs, pool tables, darts and TVs. What more could you want from a sports bar? And Friday and Saturday nights are karaoke night. So warm up those golden pipes.
